Weather Outlook - 3rd October 2020 (12Noon)
The flash-flood watch for St. Vincent & the Grenadines has been discontinued effective 12 noon 3rd October 2020. A gradual reduction in moisture is expected within the next few days, bringing more pleasant conditions to our islands. Apart from a few isolated morning showers on Sunday and Monday, conditions should be warm. Late Monday however, instability ahead of a tropical wave that approaches the islands could result in showers and thunderstorm activity.
Moderate to fresh (~20–30km/h) east to east north easterly trades would move across the islands over the next 24 hours, reducing in speed until they become gentle(~10-20km/h) on Monday. Wind speeds would gradually increase (10-20km/h) by late Tuesday and shift to south easterly.
Slight to moderate sea-conditions are across SVG, near 1.2 m on western coasts and up to 2.2 m on eastern coasts. Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea-swells especially on eastern coasts. Swell heights could decrease by Sunday possibly nearing 1.0 m on western coasts and 2.0 m on eastern coasts. Smooth to slight(0.5m-1.2m) sea conditions are expected from early Monday. A gradual reduction in dust concentration could see the visibility improved across the islands around Monday.
