A weak Atlantic High Pressure System is the dominant feature across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and occasional low-level cloud patches could trigger isolated showers. Weak unstable conditions could support a few showers Saturday night/early Sunday, before a patch of Saharan dust moves over our area with slight haze becoming moderate by evening.
Gentle to moderate (`~ 15 – 25 km/h) east north-easterly trades could increase to fresh (30 - 35 km/h) during Friday night, becoming occasionally strong by Saturday with a temporary shift to east south-easterly. Further increase is expected Sunday, occasionally nearing 50 km/h by evening.
Slight to moderate sea-conditions
are across our islands, with east north-easterly swells near 1.0 m on western coasts and near 1.8 m on eastern coasts. Swell heights are expected to rise during Saturday, ranging 1.5 to 2.0 m by evening with occasional northerly swells and long-period waves which may cause life-threatening surf and dangerous rip currents…Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise extreme caution…Swell heights could be near 2.0 m on western coasts and 2.5 m on eastern coasts of SVG by Sunday afternoon.
