A few showers with isolated thunderstorm activity moved across our Grenadine Islands this afternoon, as a tropical wave crossed just south of our islands. The Atlantic High Pressure System is becoming the dominant feature and lower-level clouds moving along with its trade-wind flow are likely to trigger a few showers across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). Saharan dust concentrations are expected to thicken across our area tonight and moderate-occasionally thick haze could reduce visibility/air-quality during Wednesday, possibly thinning-out during Friday...Be aware.
Moderate to fresh (25 – 35 km/h) east north-easterly trades are expected across our islands over the next few days, with strong gusts
(45 – 55 km/h) at times...Be alert in wind-exposed areas.
East north-easterly swells range between 1.0 m to 1.5 m on western coasts with slight to moderate sea-conditions and up to 1.8 m on eastern coasts of SVG, with moderate sea-conditions. Swell heights could start rising Wednesday night, ranging 1.2 m to 1.8 m on western coasts and nearing 2.5 m on eastern coasts by Thursday…Small craft-operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution for reduction in visibility/air-quality, rising sea-swells and occasional gusty winds. Fall in swell heights (1.2 – 2.0 m) can be expected during Friday night.
