Weather Outlook 18th July 2021 (6 pm)

On the southern edge of the Western Atlantic High Pressure System; weak unstable conditions are crossing the islands and occasional cloudy skies, a few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG)Be alert in areas prone to flash-flooding or near rivers and streams. Saharan dust concentrations are thickening and moderate/occasionally thick haze can be expected tonight, thinning-out to slight haze on Wednesday...Be aware of reduced visibility/air-quality. 

Moderate to fresh (25 – 35 km/h) east north-easterly trades could become occasionally gusty (near 45 km/h), especially during Tuesday night…Be alert in wind-exposed areas. 

East north-easterly swells range between 1.0 m to 1.5 m on western coasts with slight to moderate sea-conditions and up to 1.8 m on eastern coasts of SVG with moderate sea-conditions. Swell heights could temporarily rise near 1.8 m on western coasts and 2.5 m on eastern coasts, between Tuesday night and Wednesday morningSmall-craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution for reduced visibility/air-quality, rising sea-swells and occasional gusty winds.
