Weather Outlook 7th September 2021 (6 pm)

Saharan dust concentrations could thicken to moderate haze across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) during Wednesday and a weak tropical wave is expected to cross south of our islands, with a slight chance of a few showers spreading across SVG, relieving some of the heat conditions. Unstable conditions

could support isolated thunderstorms by late Wednesday into Thursday, followed by a trough system by Friday evening.

Gentle to moderate (15 – 25 km/h) east south-easterly breeze could turn easterly during Wednesday, becoming occasionally fresh (near 35 km/h) during the night. Wind directions could turn east north-easterly by Thursday night.

North-easterly long-period waves along our shores could become northerly by Wednesday; possibly retreating late Thursday…Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should continue to exercise extreme caution along the shores of SVG, due to life-threatening surf and dangerous rip currents. In open water, expect slight sea-conditions (0.5 – 1.2 m) on the west of SVG and moderate (1.5 – 2.0 m) on the east of SVG.
