Weather Outlook - 26th May 2026(6pm)

A high-pressure system will remain the dominant feature across the island chain, generating brisk winds and occasional passing showers. Meanwhile, a weak tropical wave currently located over the Central Atlantic is moving westward at 12 to 17 mph and is expected to cross our area late on Thursday; little to no significant shower activity is expected with its passage.

Northeasterly to southeasterly winds ranging from 20 to 40 km/h (12 to 25 mph) are forecast; however, a decrease is anticipated by Wednesday, with speeds peaking near 30 km/h (19 mph). Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate in open waters, with swells peaking near 1.2 m on the western coasts and near 2.0 m  on the east coasts. Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution for above normal swells, occasional gusty winds. The thick layer of Saharan dust haze is forecast to gradually move out of our area by late Wednesday, improving visibility and air quality
