An upper level trough will allow for a few pockets of showers and possible isolated thunderstorms by this (Saturday) evening.

Meanwhile an approaching tropical wave is expected to affect the islands along Sunday. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flash flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert. Lingering instability should result in additional showers during the early parts of Monday while more pleasant conditions are anticipated on Tuesday. Meanwhile, no significant Saharan dust haze concentrations are expected during this forecast period.

Gentle to moderate (~15-25 km/h) east south easterly trades are crossing our islands, but should increase (~20-30 km/h) as the new week begins.  Wind direction should shift to east north easterly from Monday. Seas are slight to moderate in open water with swells heights peaking to 1.0 m on western coasts and ranging between 1.5 m to 1.8 m on eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells.
