72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook- 28th July 2020 (6pm noon)

As of 6pm, a flash flood watch is in effect for St. Vincent & the Grenadines until 12 noon 29th July 2020.

An elongated area of low pressure is located about 360 miles east north east of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Although the disturbance is approaching the Leeward Islands, it should dominate the weather pattern across SVG over the next 72 hours as it makes its west north-westwards track north of the island chain. Moderate to heavy showers, gusty winds, periods of rain and scattered thunderstorms are likely tonight into Wednesday. Rainfall accumulations of 75mm or 3 inches are possible by Wednesday night with isolated higher amounts in mountainous areas. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert.
