72 Hours Outlook

The atmosphere it expected to remain relatively moist, therefore cloudy conditions will be maintained across our islands during the next 48 hours. Sunny and warm conditions will be interrupted by a few passing showers and possible isolated thunderstorms By late Thursday, unstable conditions will approach our islands and increase the chance of showers across SVG into Friday. On Saturday, the Atlantic high pressure system should regain dominance with sunny and warm conditions anticipated during the earlier part of the day.

Light and gentle (<20km/h) east south easterly trades will cross the islands during this forecast period. Sea conditions are smooth to slight on eastern coasts ranging from 0.5m to 1.0m and slight to moderate on eastern coasts peaking near 1.5m. No significant Saharan dust haze concentrations are expected during this forecast period.

September 10^th marked the peak of the hurricane season. The month of September also has the highest average maximum temperature (31.3℃ - 30 year average) on record in SVG. Similar warm conditions were experienced around this time last year. The public is strongly advised to take the necessary precautionary measures to alleviate warm conditions.
