72 Hours Outlook

The general wind flow towards SVG within the next 24 hours is east south easterly. This means that equatorial moisture will be drawn to our islands and this will contribute to cloudy skies, occasional showers and possible isolated thunderstorms. On Sunday, warm conditions are likely to be interrupted by a few brief passing showers. Instability could return  on Monday.

Gentle to fresh (15-30 km/h) east south easterly trades are crossing the islands. A directional change to east north easterly is expected late Saturday. On Monday, wind speeds should reduce(10-20km/h) and become east south easterly by evening. Seas are slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking near 1.0m on western coasts, and 1.5m-2.0m on the eastern coasts. In addition, Saharan dust haze concentrations could thicken on Saturday, reducing visibility and air quality across our islands. Be alert.
