72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook 12 noon 3rd November 2017

Some showers associated with the passing trough, remained just east of our islands this morning. This afternoon and tonight, periods of rain and scattered showers are possible across our area as the trough moves across the region. South-southeasterly low level winds behind the axis of the trough bringing moisture. Unstable conditions may linger into the weekend with sufficient low-mid level moisture and another approaching trough and shearline Saturday into Sunday. At upper levels, some dry air persists with moisture now expected to increase late Sunday.

Gentle to moderate east-south easterly breeze should prevail with increase to moderate by Sunday. A more east-northeasterly moderate to fresh breeze expected by Monday.

Slight (0.6m - 1.2m) seas on the west coasts and generally slight to moderate (1.0m - 1.5m) on the east coasts. Slight haze on the horizon could thicken Sunday due to dust concentrations.
