72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook - 5th February 2024 (12 noon)

The Atlantic high pressure system will remain the dominant feature across or islands during this forecast period. Breezy conditions are likely to persist and there is a slight chance of isolated showers.

Moderate to fresh (~25-35km/h) east south easterly trades are crossing the islands. Winds will increase to strong (~40km/h) overnight and slightly reduce (~20-30km/h) on Thursday. Sea conditions are moderate in open waters during this forecast period with swells could range between 1.5m to 2.0m on western coasts and peak near 2.5m on eastern coasts. Rough sea conditions are possible, especially on eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise extreme caution for above normal sea swells. Saharan dust concentrations could increase on Tuesday, reducing the air quality across our islands.
