72 Hours Outlook

Tropical Storm Philippe is moving away from the island chain and pulling moisture across the islands. Occasionally cloudy skies, a few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms continue across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) this afternoon and decrease overnight. The next tropical wave approaches the islands Wednesday night with scattered showers and thunderstorms increasing Thursday and lingering during Friday…Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should be alert. Occasional slight haze may be noticeable during Thursday and Friday, inter-mixing with cloudy skies.

Moderate-fresh (20 - 35km/h) east south-easterlies become gusty ~45km/h during Thursday.

Marine conditions are currently slight to moderate in open water (1.0m - 2.0m), gently falling (1.0m - 1.5m) by tonight. Long period waves with life-threatening surf and rip currents are likely on western shores during Thursday and occasional gusts agitate swells (1.0m - 2.0m) during Thursday and Friday…Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution. 

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services (SVG MET Services) will continue to monitor the Tropical Atlantic Ocean and issue updates/advisories as necessary.
