72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook - 9th January 2024 (12 noon)

Cloudy conditions will be maintained for the remainder of Tuesday with a 70% chance of occasional moderate showers. Although marginal improved conditions are likely on Wednesday, a weak shearline could begin to affect the islands from late evening resulting in additional pockets of moderate showers.

Moderate to fresh (20-35km/h) easterly to east north easterly trades will cross the islands over this forecast period with occasional increases (~40km/h). Seas are forecast to be moderate, sometimes rough, in open waters with swells ranging between 1.8m-2.0m on the western coasts and 2.2m - 2.5m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution for above normal north easterly swells. No significant haze intrusion is forecast.
