A wake cloud has contributed to cloudy skies near to islands confined to the immediate south of mainland this afternoon. A few showers are also likely around nightfall. The Atlantic high pressure should dominate the weather pattern over the next few days although a few patches of showers are anticipated on Thursday morning.
