Cloudy conditions are expected to continue across St. Vincent & the Grenadines as pockets of low-level moisture linger, promoting unstable conditions. A favourable upper-level environment(an upper-level jetstream) still exists and is the main catalyst behind the enhanced showers experienced across our islands. Spells of light to moderate activity is still likely on occasions over the weekend as the jet slowly moves away from the region. Due to the already saturated nature of soils, residents and motorists should be alert in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams. Be alert also for possible impacts resulting from rain-soaked ash. The Atlantic high pressure system would attempt to rebuild around late Sunday and this could provide some improved conditions on Monday.
