72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook - 19th December 2024 (12 Noon)

Moisture levels would fluctuate over the next few days across our islands, resulting in occasional cloudy skies and abrupt light to moderate shower activity. Breezy conditions are also likely to persist within the next 24 hours. Although this could facilitate short spells of showers, varying intensities may affect the execution of some outdoor activities. Therefore, residents should remain alert. A mixture of sunshine and cloudy conditions are likely from Saturday.

Moderate to fresh (~20-35km/h) east north easterly to easterly trades are crossing our islands, slightly decreasing (~30km/h) on Friday. Wind direction should shift to east south easterly on Saturday. Seas are moderate to rough in open water with swells ranging between 1.5m and 1.8m on western coasts and peaking near 2.8m on eastern coasts.  Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise extreme caution for above normal sea swells and occasional gusty winds. Moderate sea conditions are anticipated along Friday. In addition, slight Saharan dust haze concentrations will continue to cross our islands during this forecast period, thickening from late Saturday.
