Extended Forecast

Relatively fair conditions are expected for the remainder of Tuesday while occasional brief passing showers are forecast for Wednesday with slight haze intrusion as the day progresses.

Apart from a few brief early showers on Thursday, conditions are expected to be fair and breezy with moderate haze. Residents are advised to take the necessary precautions for reduced visibility and air quality due to Saharan dust haze. Pockets of moisture should cross our islands on Friday allowing for a few scattered showers.

Moderate to fresh (~20-30 km/h) east north easterly trades are crossing our islands, but should increase (~35 km/h) slightly on Thursday and shift to east south easterly temporarily.  Seas are slight to moderate in open water with swells heights peaking to 1.0 m on western coasts and near to 1.8 m on eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells. In addition, long period waves are anticipated from Wednesday afternoon. Marine users should exercise caution for breaking wake action and dangerous rip currents near the shoreline.
