Latest update on Tropical Depression "11" & Tropical Storm Kirk

TROPICAL DEPRESSION "11" DEGENERATES INTO A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE AS TROPICAL STORM KIRK ACCELERATES OVER THE EASTERN ATLANTIC.

At 11 am, the remnants of Tropical Depression "11" was located near latitude 14.5 North; longitude 5.0 West, or 350 miles east of the Windward Islands with movement towards the west near 12 mph.

Additionally, a westward moving tropical wave is expected to produce shower and thunderstorm activity by Tuesday.

Meanwhile, at 11 am, Tropical Storm Kirk was centered near latitude 9.3 North; longitude 30.2 West, or 2150 miles east of the Lesser Antilles . "Kirk " is now moving towards the west near 21 mph. Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph with higher gusts. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outwards up to 70 miles from the center. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours. Weakening is likely during the middle to latter part of the week.

On the present forecast track, the center of this system is forecast to approach SVG by late Thursday.

Possible watches and warnings will be issued by the middle of next week.
