Weather Outlook 20th September 2019 (6 pm)

Hurricane Jerry is moving north of the island chain and a feeder band could create instability across our islands tonight, with slight hazy skies alternating with showers on Saturday. Showers and thunderstorm activity could intensify Sunday night, lingering on Monday as a ‘strong tropical wave’ crosses our area...Weather information statement issued at 6pm today...

Wind speeds should steadily increase; to moderate breeze early Saturday, increasing to strong (50km/h) late Saturday peaking with moderate gale strength (up to 55km/h) during Sunday, before decreasing to moderate breeze (20 -30 km/h) by early Tuesday.

During Saturday, wave heights should be rising with northerly swells from ‘Jerry’. Expect easterly swells early Sunday and rough sea conditions (3.0 - 4.5 m) by afternoon, due to ‘well-defined tropical wave’…Marine advisories will be in effect...
