A tropical wave will continue to affect our islands tonight and there is a high chance for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. A Flash-Flood watch is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 6:00 pm today 13th August 2022 until 12:00 noon, Sunday 14th August 2022. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should exercise caution. Instability trailing this wave is expected to generate cloudy skies and trigger additional showers on Sunday with patches of moisture lingering during the earlier parts of Monday.
Gentle to moderate(20-30km/h) east north easterly trades will shift to south easterly tonight as the wave's axis cross the island chain. Higher gusts are expected near showers. This south easterly flow is expected to continue and speeds could decrease(15-25km/h) temporarily on Monday. On Tuesday winds should become east north easterly. Seas are slight on western coasts peaking near 1.0m and moderate on eastern coasts ranging between to 2.0m to 2.3m. A plume of Saharan dust is expected around the Eastern Caribbean around Tuesday.
