The Atlantic high pressure system will remain dominant within the next 48 hours, providing relatively fair conditions with a slight chance of light sporadic showers. By late Saturday, unstable conditions will approach the islands and the chance of showers increases. Saharan dust haze concentrations will gradually decrease across this forecast period.
Gentle to moderate (15-30km/h) easterly to east south easterly trades will cross the islands over the next 3 days. Seas will be slight to moderate in open waters with swells ranging between 1.0m to 2.0m. In addition, the first tropical wave was analyzed this morning along 12W 2N-12N (off the coast of Africa).
