Weather Discussion:
A weak lower-level trough could bring a few scattered showers across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) this (Sunday) evening/tonight. Meanwhile, the Atlantic High Pressure System is becoming the dominant feature, with increased winds occasionally pushing cloud patches across our islands. Occasionally, varying concentrations of Saharan dust could create a film/slight-haze across our area.
Fresh-occasionally strong (35 - 40km/h) breeze can be expected across our islands, with wind directions ranging from north northeast to easterly in some locations. Winds could become gusty/squally (40 - 45km/h) at times, especially during the night-times…Be Alert!
Sea conditions are currently moderate in open water, with swells near 1.5m west of our islands and 2.5m east of our islands. Small-craft operators should be prepared for gusty/squally winds during night-times and above normal swells occasionally nearing 2.0m west of our islands and 3.0m east of our islands…A Small-craft and High Surf Advisory is in effect for St Vincent and the Grenadines until 6:00 pm Wednesday 22nd January, 2025.
