72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook - 30th August 2024 (6pm)

Moisture levels are elevated across our islands, due to a northward shift/positioning of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Occasional cloudy skies, with periods of light rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms could continue across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) over the weekend…Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should exercise caution...Fairly good visibility (except during showers) could decrease by Monday evening, with slight-haze across our area.

Light-gentle (< 20km/h) breeze across our islands could vary widely between northerly and south-west in some locations, temporarily increasing (~25km/h) near showers.

Sea conditions are slight to moderate in open water, occasionally appearing smooth with swells near 0.5m west of our islands and ranging 1.0m - 1.5m east of our islands.

Low pressure areas being monitored in the Tropical Atlantic Ocean remain disorganized. An area of interest in the Central Atlantic has a 40% chance of development before reaching the Lesser Antilles by Monday…The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services will continue to monitor any developments and issue updates/advisories as necessary.
