72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook - 29th August 2024 (12 Noon)

SVG will continue to experience light wind speeds and consequently warm conditions within this forecast period. Cloudy conditions with breaks of showers and potential thunderstorms are also anticipated over the next three days as moisture levels is expected to remain elevated across the southern Windwards due to a northward migration of the ITCZ(Inter Tropical Convergence Zone).

Seas are slight to moderate in open water with swells peaking at 1.0m on the western coasts and around 1.5 m on the eastern coasts. No significant Saharan dust haze intrusion is expected during this forecast period.

Meanwhile, the SVG Meteorological Service is monitoring a tropical wave along 35W latitude (at 8am) with a 40% chance of tropical cyclone development within the next 7 days. Residents are advised to keep informed on the progress of this feature.
