Flash-Flood Watch Discontinued
THE FLASH-FLOOD WATCH IS DISCONTINUED
for St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Issued 8:30 am Saturday 15th August, 2026
Radar analysis and Satellite imagery over the past few hours have indicated a reduction of rainfall activity across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as the tropical wave continues to move westward. Around 2:00 am this morning 15th August 2026, the system moved into a region of increasing upper-level winds and drier air and this significantly diminished the expected rainfall amounts. The threat of flash-flooding has since decreased.
Consequently, the Flood-flood Watch is now discontinued as of 8:30 am, today Saturday, 15th August, 2026. There is a low risk of flash-flooding due to instability with the passage of the tail end of this wave. Therefore, residents and motorists in areas prone to flash flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert.
Be advised that the High Wind and Small Craft Advisories remains in effect until 6pm today. Residents are strongly urged to be vigilant against falling trees limbs, loose outdoor objects and disconnected over-head wires.
Only vessels capable of withstanding swell magnitudes (1.8 m - 2.8 m) should venture out. Sea-bathers are advised to stay out of the water.
