Weather Outlook 19th May 2021 (6 pm)
The Atlantic High Pressure System is the dominant feature and few cloud patches with isolated showers are likely across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). A weak pulse is expected to approach the islands late Thursday, increasing the chance for a few showers. Slight/moderate haze due to Saharan dust concentrations of varying intensity lingers across our islands.
Moderate to fresh (20 – 35 km/h) east south-easterly wind-flow could occasionally increase near 40 km/h and higher gusts are likely by Thursday night into the weekend. Wind directions are expected to turn east north-easterly during the weekend.
Slight to moderate sea-conditions
with north-easterly swells ranging 0.6 m to 1.2 m on western coasts and east south-easterly swells near 1.8 m are on eastern coasts of SVG. Slight rise in swell heights can be expected (near 1.2m on western coasts and 2.0 m on eastern coasts) by Saturday. Over the next few days…Small-craft operators should exercise caution for reduced visibility and air-quality due to moderate haze.
