Weather Outlook - 5th May 2026 (12 Noon)

A ridge pattern is the dominant feature across our islands allowing for fair to partly cloudy skies.

By Wednesday evening, relatively fair conditions could be interrupted by pockets of moderate showers as an upper level trough encroaches or area. This upper level environment will provide support for weak pulses that cross our islands on Thursday and Friday.

Gentle to fresh (~15 to 30km/h) easterly to east north-easterly trades are crossing our islands. A temporary shift to east south easterly is expected early Wednesday while speeds should reduce (15-25km/h) gradually from Thursday. Seas are slight to moderate in open water with swells peaking to 1.0 m on western coasts and ranging between 1.5m to 1.8m on eastern coasts. In addition, an increase in Saharan dust haze concentration is likely along Wednesday, reducing visibility and air quality across our islands. By Thursday evening a thinning out is expected.
