Instability will persist across the islands generating cloudy skies and triggering occasional showers this (Friday) afternoon. An upper level trough will provide support for episodes of moderate showers across the weekend. The highest chance of this activity is expected on Sunday. Residents should remain alert. In addition, varying concentrations of Saharan dust haze are crossing our islands but should reduce by Saturday evening.
Moderate to fresh (~20-30 km/h) east north easterly trades are crossing our islands decreasing (~25 kmh/h) by Saturday. Seas are slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking near 1.2m on western coasts and near 2.0m. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and occasional gusty winds. An improvement to sea conditions is likely from Saturday as wind speeds decrease.
