The Atlantic high pressure system is forecast to dominate the weather pattern across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines over the next 24 to 36 hours. Occasionally cloudy skies, breezy conditions and brief scattered showers can be expected.
Thereafter, around Saturday, a weak tropical wave is expected to affect the islands, producing a marginal increase in shower activity.
Meanwhile, at 11:00 AM, Tropical Depression Two formed near latitude 10.2 North, longitude 41.4 West, or 1370 miles east of the island chain. The depression is forecast to move west near 16 mph (26 km/h) towards the northern island chain. Some strengthening is possible and the depression could become a tropical storm later today or on Friday. However, the system is forecast to degenerate into a tropical wave east of the Lesser Antilles late Sunday into Monday.
The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the progress of this system and update as necessary.
Additionally, seas will remain moderate to rough with swells peaking to 2.0m on the west coast and 2.5m on the east coast. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution.
