A surface to low level ridge pattern will be dominant across our islands for the afternoon period. However, a surface to low level trough is expected to affect the southern part of the region by late evening. Occasionally cloudy skies and scattered showers are likely.
Meanwhile, The National Hurricane Center continues to issue advisories on Hurricane Florence located over the Central Atlantic. Florence is expected to remain over the open waters of the Atlantic, as it moves northwest away from the region.
Additionally, Tropical Storm Gordon has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression, and at 11 am, was centered over Mississippi, southern USA.
The Meteorological Services also continues to monitor a strong tropical wave located over the far Eastern Atlantic. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for additional development, and a Tropical Depression is expected to form by the end of the week while the system tracks west-northwestward.
Easterly winds ranging between 15 km/h to 35 km/h are forecast during the next 48 hours. However, a reduction between 10 km/h to 25 km/h is expected thereafter.
Slight to moderate easterly sea swells ranging between 1.0 to 2.0 meters (3.0 to 7.0 feet) will remain during this forecast period.
No significant haze intrusion is expected.
