Unstable conditions associated with the passage of a surface to low level trough resulted in occasional light to moderate showers mostly across the Northern Grenadines Islands yesterday.
However, by early morning, improvements in the weather conditions with mainly fair skies were noticeable across most of SVG.
During the next 36 hours, the Atlantic High Pressure System will remain the dominant feature across our area. Thus, occasional cloudy skies and a few passing showers can be expected.
By Sunday, an approaching weak surface to low level trough is expected to move over the southern part of the region. At present, a few scattered showers under cloudy skies is forecast across our islands.
Thereafter, a gradual improvement in the weather conditions is anticipated as the High Pressure System rebuilds behind the westward moving trough.
East north-easterly to East south-easterly winds ranging between 15 to 35 km/h (9 to 22 mph) are expected during the next 72 hours.
Moderate sea swells are expected with swells peaking near 2.0 meters (7.0 feet)
In addition, a layer of Saharan dust haze is forecast to move over the islands by early Sunday.
