Hazy conditions are due to Saharan dust mass being transported by an eastern Atlantic High Pressure circulation; resulting in concentrations of varying intensity reducing visibility and air quality across the islands. Hazy conditions are gradually thinning out and should be cleared by Friday.
During Thursday, a lower-level shearline could result in increased cloudiness with scattered showers. Shower activity could continue Friday into Saturday, with a lower level-trough across our area being supported by mid-level moisture.
Gentle to moderate (15 – 30km/h) easterly breeze should increase briefly overnight backing to north-easterly. Directions should vary during Wednesday, becoming east-southeasterly by Thursday and gentle at times.
Slight to moderate sea conditions with north-easterly swells, ranging 0.5m to 1.2m on the west coasts and 1.2m to 1.8m on east coasts could possibly fall to range 0.5 – 1.5m by Wednesday across SVG.
Barometric readings should range 1013 - 1017mb across our area, occasionally dipping Thursday and Friday with the passage of the shearline and trough.
