Saharan dust, transported by the wind-flow of the Atlantic High Pressure System, is reducing visibility and air quality with haze of varying intensity across our islands. Hazy conditions could be thinned-out across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) by late Friday, allowing weak low-level instability with occasional cloudy skies and a few showers.
Moderate to fresh (25 – 40 km/h) east south-east wind-flow could be gusty (near 45 km/h) at times, turning east north-easterly during Friday and gradually reducing to moderate (20 – 30 km/h) breeze by Saturday.
Moderate sea conditions are across our islands, with easterly swells near (1.5 m) on west coasts and
near 2.5 m on east coasts...Small craft-operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution...Swell heights could be falling on east coasts (near 2.0 m) during Friday and range 1.2 to 1.5 m on west coasts by Friday night. Slight to moderate (1.2 – 2.0 m) sea conditions are expected across SVG by Saturday.
