A wake cloud stretched between Barbados and St. Vincent, bringing brief showers to the southern portion of mainland-St. Vincent, this afternoon. A few showers are likely to spread across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) tonight with cloudiness lingering on Saturday. A plume of Saharan dust is moving closer to the Eastern Caribbean and moderate/thick haze could occasionally reduce visibility, air quality and shower activity; thus, no significant accumulations are expected across our islands this weekend. Hazy conditions could thin–out during Monday.
Moderate to fresh (~20 – 40 km/h) breeze could become gusty (near 45 km/h) at times, with directions varying between east north-east and east south-east. Reduction to moderate (~20 – 30 km/h) breeze is expected during Monday. Sea-swells range 1.2 to 1.5 m on western coasts and up to
2.0 m on eastern coasts...Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should continue to exercise caution for above normal easterly swells...Swell heights could rise late Saturday near 1.8 m on western coasts and near 2.5 m on eastern coasts, then steadily fall by late Sunday, becoming slight to moderate (1.2 – 2.0 m) across SVG late Monday.
