A tropical wave would affect the islands late tonight into Monday morning, resulting in possible moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms across St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Residents and motorists should exercise caution. Instability trailing the wave could see cloudy conditions persist into the evening. On Tuesday afternoon another tropical wave should begin to affect the islands. On Wednesday, a shearline could generate some cloudy skies, triggering a few scattered showers in the process.
Moderate to fresh(approximately 20km/h – 35km/h) trades are anticipated during the next 72 hours. An east north east to easterly(ENE-E) flow would shift to east south easterly(ESE) on occasions during Monday and Tuesday before returning ENE on Wednesday.
Moderate sea conditions with swells peaking to 1.5m on the western coasts and 2.5m on the eastern coasts are forecast during the next 12 hours. A further deterioration(2.0m -2.5m) is anticipated on Monday evening. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution for above normal sea swells.
Varying concentrations of Saharan dust will move across the islands over the next few days.
