The Atlantic High Pressure System is dominant with moderate/fresh trades pushing lower-level clouds across St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), which could bring a few showers. Saharan dust concentrations with varying intensity are also being transported within the wind-flow and could create moderate to occasionally thick haze across our islands. However, moisture associated with a tropical wave could bring some showers with thunderstorm activity across SVG by Saturday afternoon into the night. Moderate to fresh (~25 – 40 km/h) east north-easterly trades are expected to turn easterly during Saturday, as the tropical wave crosses the islands, decreasing to moderate south-easterly breeze late Saturday.
Moderate sea-conditions returned to
our islands this afternoon with east north-easterly sea-swells ranging 1.2 to 1.8 m on western coasts and near 2.5 m on eastern coasts…Small craft-operators and sea-bathers should continue exercising caution for above normal sea-swells….A fall in swell heights may be noticeable on eastern coasts early Thursday, as swell heights gradually fall and could become slight to moderate (1.2 – 2.0 m) again by Saturday afternoon.
