The convergence of low-level winds will continue to generate occasionally cloudy conditions across our islands and also increase the likelihood of showers heading into tomorrow(Friday). Models suggest that a southerly mid-level flow and a favourable upper level environment should be in place across the weekend, providing some support to weak pulses that may traverse the chain. Some scattered early morning showers are anticipated on Saturday and Sunday. By late Sunday, there is potential for moderate shower activity.
Gentle to near fresh (15 – 30 km/h) east north easterly trades will move across our islands over the next 24 hours. A temporary eastward shift is forecasted for Saturday as winds speeds decrease and become moderate(~25km/h) into the new week.
Currently, slight to moderate sea-conditions with east north-easterly sea-swells are across our islands ranging from 0.5 m to 1.0 m on western coasts and near 1.5 m on eastern coasts. Seas are expected to become slight (0.5m-1.2m) in open water from late Friday evening.
