Unstable conditions associated with an upper level jet and a weak mid level trough continues to affect the region. Isolated convective build-ups are possible across our area, as low level cloud patches move across the area with brisk north-east trades from the Central Atlantic High Pressure System.
Model analysis indicates that most of the moisture should remain just east of/across the Guianas area. However, late Tuesday into Wednesday upper level support could enhance shower activity as a mid level trough is expected across the southern Windward Islands, with instability lingering into Thursday.
Moderate to fresh (20-38km/h) north-easterly breeze should prevail over the next few days, with occasional strong (39-46km/h) gusts.
Slight to moderate sea swells on west coasts, and moderate on east coasts are expected to increase Tuesday, due to the brisk winds across the ocean. Swells could peak near 8-10 ft on our east coasts continuing into Thursday along with steady fresh breeze. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution due to fresh (brisk) easterly winds and the above normal seas over the next few days. Marine conditions could involve large waves beginning to form with white foam crests being more extensive and probably some spray. Small-craft Warning and High Surf Advisory may be issued from late Tuesday. Be on the alert!
Slight haze overnight could reduce horizontal visibility due to dust concentrations continuing into Tuesday, with some thinning out by evening
