The Atlantic high pressure system is regaining dominance bringing breezy and relatively fair conditions over the next 24 hours as instability continue to drift westward and away from the eastern Caribbean. In addition, the SVG Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the progress of other tropical waves currently in the Atlantic, the first of which could affect our islands around Monday. Another wave is expected late Tuesday into Wednesday. All residents and motorists should remain alert during the hurricane/wet season and stay updated.
Occasionally strong(near 40 km/h) east to east south easterly trades would cross the islands tonight, becoming easterly across Sunday and Monday. An east north easterly flow could return on Tuesday.
Seas are currently moderate in open water, peaking up to 1.5 on western coasts and between 2.2m to 2.5m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells. Swell heights could improve(near 2.2m) on eastern coasts temporarily across Sunday. There will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
