The tail end of a tropical wave would affect the islands up to late Sunday before conditions gradually and temporarily improve into early Monday. Meanwhile, the SVG Meteorological Service continues to monitor an area of disturbed weather with an elongated area of low pressure a few hundred miles to the east of the island chain. The centre of this disturbance is expected to pass well north of SVG late Monday and regardless of development, our islands are likely to experience showers and thunderstorm activity from late Monday into and along Tuesday. All residents should remain alert. Some improvement could return on Wednesday.
Occasional breezy(near 40km/h) east north easterly trades could cross the islands tonight before reducing to moderate(near 20km/h) by Monday evening.A south easterly flow is expected on Tuesday with winds speeds near 25 km/h. On Wednesday north easterly winds could shift to south easterly by afternoon.
Seas would be slight to moderate in open water with swells peaking near 1.0m on western coasts and between 1.5m to 2.0m on eastern coasts over the next 72 hours. In addition, no significant dust haze intrusion is anticipated for this forecast period.
