72 Hours Outlook

A tropical disturbance currently being monitored is forecast to pass well north of our islands and maintain a west-northwestward track. Due to its presence, the pressure gradient would slacken across the Eastern Caribbean and instability could result in occasional showers across the islands. Localised showers lingered across sections of west coast mainland SVG this afternoon due to warm conditions coupled with light wind speeds. Calm and variable winds during Sunday could allow for additional warm conditions, therefore afternoon showers with possible thunderstorm activity is likely. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flash flooding should be alert.  An east to south easterly flow should begin from Monday accompanied by speeds below 20 km/h, slightly increasing(near 25km/h) on Tuesday. Sea conditions will be generally slight with swells peaking at 0.5m on the western coasts and 1.2m on the eastern coasts over the next few days. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
