Saharan dust haze concentrations of varying intensities will persist across SVG as the weekend progresses, resulting in a reduction in visibility. Strong wind speeds are also anticipated and this would allow for pockets of showers to become short-lived as unstable conditions occasionally cross the island chain. In addition, a tropical wave would approach around Sunday night, increasing the chance of moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Strong(30-45 km/h) trades will move across the island chain during the next 48 hours, while wind speeds could slightly decrease(25-35 km/h) from Sunday. Over the next 3 days, the main direction would be from the east north east, however on occasions, the flow may become easterly. Seas are moderate to rough in open water peaking near 1.5m the western coasts, and near 2.8m on the eastern coasts. Further deterioration may be possible on Friday. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and gusty winds and reduced visibility due to dust haze.
