A tropical wave is affecting our islands and tonight, cloudy skies are anticipated with pockets of light to moderate showers and a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams are advised to remain alert. It is also likely that unsettled conditions would persist along Monday as the moisture associated with this feature is expected to linger across our islands. Therefore, the SVG Meteorological Service would continue to monitor the progress of this wave and provide the necessary updates as it continues along its westward path. Conditions could improve by early Tuesday when the Atlantic high pressure system is expected to regain its dominance.

Strong(near 45km/h) easterly(E) to east north easterly trades(ENE) will move across our islands becoming east south easterly(ESE) temporarily across Monday afternoon as the wave's axis crosses the islands. Winds may become fresh(~35 km/h) from Wednesday. Seas are currently slight to moderate in open water with swells ranging between 1.0m to 1.2m on western coasts and between 2.3m to 2.5m on eastern coasts, however, further deterioration is possible within the next 24 hours. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and occasional gusty winds.  In addition, models suggest that Saharan dust haze concentrations should thicken on Monday.
