The atmosphere will gradually dry out resulting in the decrease in cloud cover and chance of showers over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines during the next 3 days. Expect breezy conditions with winds blowing mainly from the East at 20km/h-35km/h as the Atlantic high pressure system dominates. Also, a plume of Saharan dust haze will be present across the islands fluctuating in concentrations throughout the forecast period.
Seas will be moderate in open waters with swells peaking at 1.5m on the west coast and 2.5m on the eastern coasts.
Small craft operators and sea bathers are asked to exercise caution for gusty winds and above normal sea swells.
A tropical wave is located in the far Eastern Atlantic, south of 10N. On average, 50-60 tropical waves traverse the Atlantic during the hurricane season and most do not form hurricanes. It is not unusual to have tropical waves move across the Atlantic at this time although the hurricane season officially starts on June 1st.
