Although a favourable upper level environment exists over SVG, there is a lower probability for scattered showers as Friday progresses due to a reduction in low-level moisture. By mid Saturday however, a weak shearline is expected to affect our islands. This would trigger a few passing showers and modulate the weather pattern into Sunday.
Strong(near 40km/h) east north easterly trades will cross the islands within the next 24 hours, becoming east south easterly(temporarily) and slightly decreasing(near 35km/h) from Saturday. Seas are moderate to rough in open water with swells peaking near 1.5m on western coasts and up to 3.0m on eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution for above normal sea swells and occasional gusty winds. Sea conditions could begin to improve as early as Sunday as wind speeds decrease. In addition, varying concentrations of Saharan dust haze will cross the islands within the next few days.
