The Atlantic High Pressure System is establishing across the area today, with our islands being positioned on the south western edge of the High Pressure. Breezy and hazy conditions with few scattered showers are expected across the Grenadines this afternoon. A detached wake cloud lingers just west of Barbados.
Expect increasing chances of few showers across SVG overnight into Thursday as wind/moisture converge in weak low level troughs. Mid to upper level enhancement could result in occasional cloudiness and some scattered showers. Instability is expected to linger across the area into the weekend.
Moderate to fresh (25-38km/h) breeze should continue (varying ESE –E), becoming east north-easterly by Saturday. Mean sea-level pressure should range 1016-1018mb as High Pressure builds across the area, dipping slightly on Friday (1014-1016mb).
Slight to moderate sea swells (ENE) should peak near 1.8 on the west and 2.5m on the east coast. Models indicate increase in heights with NE swells could reach our shores late Thursday early Friday.
Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution. Dust concentrations are becoming patchy, with slight improvement in visibility, further thinning out by Thursday evening.
