An upper level low and associated troughing positioned west of the island chain, has orientation with favourable conditions to support an easterly wave. This combination is generating multi-layered cloudiness, scattered moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and occasional thunderstorm activity across our area.Residents and motorists near rivers and streams, areas prone to flooding and land slippage should remain on the alert, as more rainfall accumulations could result in flooding.
Overnight and this morning, our station recorded a total of 43.1mm of rainfall. Moisture levels are expected to remain relatively high into the weekend, except for a temporary reduction in shower activity early Saturday as a Tropical wave should approach the eastern Caribbean late Saturday into Sunday.
