72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook 12 noon 4th December 2017

A low level trough crosses the islands today, with moisture converging behind the axis across our area this afternoon into tonight. Mid to upper level moisture should increase tonight; with weak divergence at the upper levels and a prefrontal shearline across the area Tuesday. Thus, increasing the chance for showers Tuesday and lingering into Wednesday. Mid to upper level moisture levels are expected to gradually decrease late Wednesday/early Thursday.  Thereafter, the Western Atlantic High Pressure system should gradually build across the island chain.

Moderate (20-28km/h) breeze are expected this afternoon from the east- south east, increasing to fresh (29-38km/h) overnight; and backing to east-north east by Tuesday. Occasional strong (38-48km/h) gusts are possible by Wednesday night as the Western Atlantic High establishes itself.

Slight (up to 1.0m) seas on the west and slight to moderate seas on the east coasts of St.Vincent and the Grenadines are expected this afternoon and tonight. An increase on the west (1.2m - 1.8m) is expected on Tuesday, while the east could increase to moderate (1.8m-2.4m) by Wednesday. Northeasterly swells should push southward into our area by Thursday.

Patches of slight haze of varying intensity could occasionally reduce visibility.
