72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook - 19th October 2023(6pm)

Tropical Storm Tammy is located east of the island chain and bands associated with the system is expected to trigger showers and thunderstorms across SVG from Thursday night into Friday. Lingering instability should allow for occasional showers on Saturday and late Sunday. Residents are advised to keep informed on the progress of this system although it is expected to pass well north of SVG.  

Gentle to moderate (15-25km/h) easterly to east south easterly trades are crossing the islands with higher gusts near showers. An increase (~30km/h) in speed is expected from Saturday. Seas are moderate to rough in open water (1.5m-2.8m). Only vessels capable of withstanding swells of these magnitudes should venture out. Sea-bathers are advised to stay out of the water. Sea conditions could improve from Saturday. No significant Saharan dust haze concentrations are anticipated within the next few days.
